There are times when we feel that something isn't right, but we don't always know exactly what's happening to us. At other times, we've been trying to handle a situation on our own for a while and feel we no longer know how.
In therapy we can work on difficulties such as anxiety, sadness, self-esteem, self-criticism, insecurity, grief, break-ups, major changes, relationship difficulties, identity or periods of emotional distress.
It can also be a space to get to know yourself better, understand why certain situations affect you in a particular way or explore patterns that keep repeating in your life.
Therapy is a place where you can stop, talk about what's happening to you and start finding new ways to deal with it, without needing to have all the answers before you begin.
Every couple goes through difficult times. Sometimes it's a specific conflict, and sometimes it's a feeling that's harder to explain: you've drifted apart, you argue about the same things again and again, or you feel you can't understand each other the way you used to.
In couples therapy we can work on communication difficulties, recurring conflicts, jealousy and insecurity, distance, different needs or expectations, sexuality, infidelity, major changes in the relationship or break-ups.
Therapy offers a space to talk about what is often hard to say at home, listen to each other from a different place and understand what's happening in your relationship.
It isn't only about stopping the arguments, but about understanding what lies behind those conflicts and deciding together what you need and how you want to relate to each other.
Sometimes one person's difficulties end up affecting the whole family. At other times, it's the relationship between family members that is going through a difficult moment.
We can work on family conflicts, difficulties between parents and children, communication problems, boundaries, major changes in the family, parents' separation, new partners or family structures, difficulties linked to different stages of life, or conflicts that seem to keep repeating.
Family therapy offers a space where each person can express how they're experiencing the situation and feel heard.
The aim is to better understand what's happening and what each family member needs, and to find different ways of facing together what is proving difficult.
Living in another country can be an exciting experience and, at the same time, much more complex than we imagined. Sometimes the initial excitement coexists with loneliness, uncertainty or the feeling of never quite being at home.
In therapy we can work on migration grief, adjustment difficulties, the clash between expectations and reality, the feeling of not belonging, loneliness, changes in relationships, identity, or the difficulties that can arise when building a life far from where you come from.
It can also be a space to talk about what it means to live between different cultures, to keep ties with your home country while building new ones, or to ask yourself where you want home to be.
I offer therapy in Spanish and English, working bilingually when you need it. We can use a single language during sessions or combine both naturally, adapting to whatever feels most comfortable for you and to the way you can best express what you're going through.
Whether you live in Madrid or somewhere else, if you feel you need a space to talk about all of this, we can work on it together.
Pregnancy, birth and the arrival of a child can be deeply transformative experiences. And they aren't always experienced the way we imagined.
During this stage, fear, anxiety, guilt, ambivalence, sadness, a sense of losing your identity, difficulty adjusting to the changes, or tension in your relationship and family life can all appear.
In therapy we can work on the emotions that come up during pregnancy and after birth, expectations about motherhood or fatherhood, difficulties related to the birth, perinatal loss, adjusting to the arrival of a child, or feelings that can be hard to share with others.
It can also be a space to talk about something as simple, and at the same time as difficult, as “I'm not experiencing this stage the way I thought I would”.
You don't need to feel a certain way to ask for help. There is room for all the emotions that can be part of this process.
No. In fact, many people come to therapy knowing only that they don't feel well, that something is worrying them or that they feel they need a change. You don't need to have everything figured out before you start. We can discover it together during the first sessions.
The first session is, above all, a space to get to know each other and understand what has led you to look for therapy. We'll talk about what's happening, how you're feeling and what you'd like to work on. You can also ask me anything about how I work.
You don't need to prepare anything special or know exactly what to tell me.
All sessions, whether individual, couples or family, last 1 hour.
I offer both.
In-person sessions take place in Madrid, and online sessions are held by video call, so you can join from anywhere.
Yes. I offer therapy in both Spanish and English.
If you're an expat or simply prefer to express yourself in English, we can do the whole process in English.
At first, sessions are usually weekly, to give the process continuity. As we move forward, we'll decide together which frequency makes the most sense for your needs and goals.
There is no set length for therapy. Every process is different.
Yes. The aim of couples therapy is not to decide for you whether to continue or end the relationship.
It can be a space to understand what's happening, talk about what feels difficult and make decisions about your relationship with more clarity.
Yes. Family sessions can help when there is a conflict affecting several family members, communication difficulties, major changes or situations that have become hard to handle together.
In each case, we'll consider together who should take part in the sessions.
You can also write to me before starting. Tell me briefly what's going on and ask me any questions you have. From there, we can decide together whether the way I work fits what you need.
You can message me on WhatsApp or call me directly. Tell me briefly what brings you to therapy and, if we decide to start, we'll find a day and time for our first session.
